The Performance Triathlon Coaching swim squad has a range of swimmer abilities from swim times of 2.00 minutes to as low as 1.05 minutes for 100m. We have long course and short course athletes, juniors and adult swimmers. The swim squad is dominantly a freestyle squad and would suit anyone who is looking to swim with like-minded triathletes/swimmers to help keep fit, take some time of those 100s and more importantly improve technique.
Swim session specificity will vary depending on the time of the season and the day of the week. Performance Triathlon Coaching has two-three lanes per session at the brand new Stromlo Leisure Centre, one for slower swimmers (1.45-2.15+), one for medium (1.25-1.45) paced swimmers and one for faster (1.00-1.25) swimmers. Session is adjusted for each lane depending on the swimmers abilities.
Sessions will be a mixture of technique, strength endurance, speed and triathlon specific training. Swim sessions are specific and well thought out to ensure all swims will benefit all.
Sessions will cover distances of 2-4km, working at various intensities including aerobic, anaerobic and VO2 max sessions. This ensures pacing skills and swimming speed is developed.
Coach Corey will continue developing your swim technique through learning different drills, working on your kick & breathing and knowing the correct lane etiquette while swimming.
