Gold Medal Paralympic Coach
“As a young athlete transitioning from other sports, and through the Triathlon Australia pathways into the novice and ITU Youth categories, I’ve found PTC to be super awesome. I love training with both people my own age, but also with elite junior and adult triathletes who set the bar high for me. Corey is a great coach and tailors by training according to my needs and abilities. The members of the PTC squad are heaps of fun to train with, and they are all really encouraging”
Taj Hutchinson – 13 years
“I would say that PTC is a great tri squad to be part of as it has such a positive and friendly atmosphere. Doesn’t matter if your a beginner or an elite athlete, the coaches give you the same level of dedication to help you achieve your goals”
Camilla Forss – PTC Squad Member
“Being in PTC makes me feel like I am part of a bigger family. The group and environment in which we train helps me to get the best out of myself every session”
Ellie Hoitink – Elite Junior (3rd AJTS 2016)
“Corey Bacon is one of Australia’s most talented, hard working and dedicated triathlon coaches. He has an outstanding record of achievement as a triathlon coach and his knowledge, skills and experience in the sport are highly respected. Perhaps most importantly, Corey has created a high performance environment and team culture which is condusive of triathlon success at all levels”.
Wayne Goldsmith – Managing Director – Moregold Performance Consulting
“After I moved my elite squad to Canberra later in 2009 we got to know the locals better. Who would have thought there was an international class junior development coach lurking here already! Corey Bacon has impressed me with his drive, enthusiasm and skill in moulding a terrific TACT Junior Program from very humble beginnings, and it is clear that he has much more to offer. Congrats Corey, keep up the great work.”
Darren Smith – International Professional Coach
“Since meeting Corey Bacon at the AIS ‘Road to Rio’ Paralympic camp August 2012, as our caretaker Paratriathlon coach, I’ve been a grateful member of PTC. From my experience, this is not only a club filled with talented and dedicated athletes, it’s a club that has been built around Coach Corey Bacon, from the ground up. Through Corey’s own values, morals, and ethics PTC’s culture has developed and been ingrained into each and every athlete. This allows us to understand and believe in the method-to-his-madness. Much the same as any sporting club’s coach demands the respect of its players, Corey has earnt that same respect, as he strives to push each of his young athletes above-and-beyond their goals and capabilities.”
Jonathon Goerlach – Australian Elite Paratriathlete
My brother Nuru and I have been coached by Corey for several years and have been involved in triathlon in ACT for even longer. Over this time Corey has shown himself to be a great role model, passionate about the sport and committed to putting in the effort to help his athletes achieve their goals. Under his guidance, my brother and I have achieved excellent results at the local, state and national level, including at elite, open and age-group races. Most recently for me, this has included qualification for an Age-group World Championships. His greatest achievement has been creating a first-class training environment that is unmatched in the ACT and NSW. The PTC squad has produced some fantastic results in a few short years since it was established – a testament to Corey’s hard work and ability.
